Don’t get me wrong, I adore technology, but I do worry that I am doing someone out of a job. For that reason I avoid the self checkout in supermarkets, quite apart from always managing to have “an unexpected item in the baggage area”. I also get very frustrated with call centres when even after pressing several buttons I can still hear an entire performance of The Four Seasons.
Recently I have begun to notice a small turnaround, last week a company actually asked for my phone number and called me back! Some companies ( like pushchairsandcarseats) still have real people answering the phones, also have you noticed how the sunny weather and Jubilee fever have made people so much nicer?
